News Category: UK Waste Legislation and Guidance Defra Consultation on the Legal Definition of Waste 15 February 2010
The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is consulting on draft guidance on the legal definition of waste and its application. The purpose of the draft guidance is to ensure businesses and other organisations make the right decisions in determining when an object or substance is waste. The draft guidance seeks to addresses two main questions:1. Has a substance become waste; and
2. If so when does it cease to be waste? The consultation closes on 8th March 2010. The consultation documents are available here:
